Hi, I’m a Los Angeles based photo retoucher, digital finisher, photographer, and painter with more than 25 years experience in imaging and visual production.
My career has spanned high-end fashion and editorial retouching, magazine prepress, commercial campaigns, and entertainment key art. I’ve held in-house retouching and imaging roles at Hyperion Digital, Playboy Enterprises, Billboard Magazine, and The Hollywood Reporter, and have worked as a contract digital finisher with creative agencies on theatrical and entertainment campaigns.
As an independent retoucher and finisher, I’ve worked with clients including IPSY, Citizen Watch, Bulova, Matsuda Eyewear, and Republic Records / Universal Music Group. My work has contributed to fashion, editorial, advertising, and entertainment imagery for leading brands, publications, and studios.
Selected entertainment work includes key art for Avatar: The Way of Water, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Captain America: Civil War, and Blue Beetle.
As a photographer, my work focuses on fashion, portraiture, and the human form, with an emphasis on cinematic and editorial-inspired imagery. My background in retouching and painting strongly influences how I approach light, color, and mood in my photography.
My background in traditional and digital painting also plays a major role in how I approach image-making. Before moving into high-end retouching and publishing, I worked in animation pre-production, comic book publishing, matte painting, illustration, and visual development. This included color and painting work on more than 40 episodes of MGM Television’s Pink Panther & Pals, as well as visual development and digital painting for film and television projects.
That combination of technical production experience and traditional art training allows me to approach complex photo manipulation, compositing, image extensions, and photorealistic retouching with a painter’s eye particularly when little or no photographic reference is available.
